Waar moet je detectoren plaatsen?

Om wettelijk in orde te zijn moet een zelfstandige woning (eengezinswoning, appartement of studio) of kamerwoning op elke verdieping minstens een rookmelder hebben.
In kamerwoningen moet er bovendien ook in elke kamer een rookmelder zijn.

Let op!
• Het is aan te raden om rookmelders te plaatsen in elke ruimte waar u doorheen moet op weg naar buiten (de kortste vluchtweg).
• Kelders en zolders die rechtstreeks toegankelijk zijn moeten minstens één rookmelder hebben. Dat is ook het geval voor een kelder- of zolderruimte waarin zich een technische installatie bevindt.

Deze verplichtingen zijn ook van toepassing op kelders en zolders in gedeeld gebruik (bv. in appartements-gebouwen en in kamerwoningen).

Er kan discussie zijn over het plaatsen van een detector in de garage.
Indien hier bijvoorbeeld een auto of fiets aan het opladen is kan dit zeker zinvol zijn.

Indien je zou kiezen voor gekoppelde detectie dan wordt de detectie en het alarmsignaal van deze detector in de brandzone door alle detectoren overgenomen in de woning.
